Introduction

Smart Survey Booking is an enhanced, digitized survey booking process which will help you to manage your survey requirements more efficiently – with respect to time, scope and cost.

The smart survey booking is improving the survey booking process in 4 dimensions:

By use of the smart survey scope and proper planning, it is possible to reduce the interference from class on the day to day operations by less class surveys and helping you to prepare for surveys and audits & reduce shore and on-board admin time.

Features

As a dynamic tool under 'Fleet Service', Smart Survey Booking is featuring:

Pro-active notification
Pro-active notification when the best time to order surveys and audits start and warn them prior to expiry.
Smart scope proposal
The tool will propose smart scope packages including surveys and time estimate.
Improved port information
Overview of Approved Service suppliers in each port (Country basis) and information if in-water survey can be performed.
Upfront cost-estimate
Estimated travel and overtime cost of survey combinations for any given port stays based on time of arrival and departure.
Benchmarking of possible ports
By using automatically calculated cost-estimates and possible scope in each port, the client can compare and benchmark ports. Note: For container vessels the system will propose port calls based on information DNV retrieves from an external source.
Efficient preparations
Relevant Survey preparation notes are attached to the survey confirmation. Terms and Conditions handled online during survey booking.

How does it work

The Smart Survey Booking concept uses algorithms to identify the “sweet spot(s)” when the maximum number of survey scope items can be combined. This is done by assessing the initiation and expiration dates for class surveys, audits and conditions. This is called the Smart Scope. You will receive notification emails when the time window of the Smart Scope opens and before it closes. If you follow the recommendation of Smart Scope, you can expect less disturbance to ship and shore operations by reducing the need to organize several surveys in multiple ports.
